The Gondoliers & Utopia Limited in Spring of 2020

It is with enormous pleasure that we announce our next collaboration with Scottish Opera in 2020. We will present two new productions to follow on from our hugely successful The Pirates of Penzance (2013) and The Mikado (2016). Firstly there will be a new fully staged The Gondoliers, and secondly a semi-staged production of Utopia Limited, both directed by Stuart Maunder, who many of you will remember directed our productions of The Pirates of Penzance in 1993, 1998 and again in 2000. Stuart is now Artistic Director at State Opera South Australia, and he will team up with designer Dick Bird who designed the co-production of The Mikado in 2016.

The fabulous ensemble cast includes William Morgan, Ellie Laugharne (The Pirates of Penzance 2013), Ben McAteer (The Mikado 2016), Sioned Gwen Davies (The Pirates of Penzance 2016) and D’Oyly Carte favourite Richard Suart (The Mikado 2016 and The Pirates of Penzance 2013). Scottish Opera’s Head of Music and G&S aficionado Derek Clark conducts.

Utopia Limited will be co-produced in a semi-staged version to accompany The Gondoliers.
