Scottish Opera & D’Oyly Carte Co-Production – The Pirates of Penzance

With generous support from  The Michael Bishop Foundation, D’Oyly Carte Opera Company will return to production in 2013, in a production of The Pirates of Penzance, a co-production with Scottish Opera.

D’Oyly Carte’s Music Director, John Owen Edwards will conduct, and Martin Lloyd-Evans will direct.

The production will be designed by Jamie Vartan, choreographed by Steve Elias, with lighting design by Colin Grenfell.

Performances will commence in Glasgow, at the Theatre Royal, on Wednesday 15th May, 2013, with His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen from Thursday 23rd May, the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh from Tuesday 28th May and Eden Court Theatre, Inverness from Thursday 6th June.

Further UK dates have been confirmed as follows…  Manchester Opera House from Tuesday 11th June, Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 18th June, Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday 25th June, Oxford from Tuesday 2nd July, and Cardiff Millennium Centre from Tuesday 16th July.
